The Youth Philanthropy Program was launched by The Ashtabula Foundation in 2010 at Grand Valley High School. In 2014, The Conneaut Foundation partnered with The Ashtabula Foundation to bring this program to Conneaut High School.
The Youth Philanthropy Program provides students with hands-on experience in grant making. The process introduces students to philanthropy, allowing them to learn about the role of foundations within the community and also about the services provided by local non-profits. The Foundation provides $5,000.00 in grant funds to be distributed by a committee of students under the guidance of advisor Stephanie Chase.
The Youth Philanthropy grant process is announced each fall and applications are due in late November.
Established through a generous gift, The Conneaut Area Chamber of Commerce Fund makes grants to qualified non-profits and government entities in the greater Conneaut area. Grants are made in partnership with The Conneaut Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
